This program's physics are nothing spectacular, but the gameplay is so entertaining we can forgive this shortcoming. The action of the game is great, letting you accelerate and repeatedly ram other vehicles into submission, but you'll need to pay attention to your own car's damage if you plan to go the distance. In our testing, all variations offered smooth graphics, and the game ran admirably well even on a lower-quality test machine. You also can decide whether you want to participate in a derby with large cars, a compact-only derby, or a figure-eight race in which you'll need to complete 20 laps while dodging other cars. We recommend you choose your car based solely on looks, because it doesn't seem to affect gameplay once the smashing begins. Few games let you experience the bone-jarring sport that is demolition derby, but Demolition Derby & Figure 8 Race does a pretty good job.
